We are currently running Exchange 2003 with outlook 2003. Our company would

like to have a standard signature file for everyone to use based on Dept.

(IE, Sales, marketing, etc.) I know that Outlook signatures are stored in

Doc&Settings\username\application data\microsoft\signature

Without have to dump a signature file in everyone's local setting, is there

a way to configure it on the exchange server. I would like to place the

signatures files on the server somewhere and have them pick the one that is

associated to thier Department.

We also dont want them to have the ability to change the file or create a

custom signatrue file.

I would appreciate any assistance

Thanks

    • We went the route you're thinking of, but rather than fight Outlook's

default behavior, we copied the signature files to the standard location on

the local drives with a few lines in the login script. After the copy, we

set the read only attribute on the signature files, which causes Outlook to

grey out all the editing tools in signature picker.
